Mae Hijinx Odyssey a myfyrwyr y flwyddyn gyntaf ar gwrs BA Celfyddydau Creadigol a Therapiwtig Prifysgol De Cymru yn falch i gyflwyno’r arddangosfa hon. Mae’r myfyrwyr wedi bod ar brofiad gwaith grŵp gyda Hijinx Odyssey yn ystod tymor yr Hydref / Gaeaf, yn cyd-hwyluso gweithdai creadigol gydag oedolion niwrowahanol, gydag anableddau dysgu a/neu sy’n awtistig ar nosweithiau Llun. Yn ddiweddar hwyluswyd gweithdy lles celfyddydol, yn adlewyrchu thema Sioe Nadolig Hijinx, ‘Pinocchio and the Northern Lights’.

Mae’r ymatebion ysgrifenedig, lluniau, collage a gwaith thri-dimensiwn wedi eu hysbrydoli gan olygfeydd hudol y ddrama, cymeriadau lliwgar a gwrthrychau pwysig fel jariau cof cyfriniol.

Yna, mae’r myfyrwyr wedi troi’r ymatebion yn eitemau gwerthadwy, o llieiniau te i grochenwaith, o bypedau ffelt i ddalwyr haul. Fe fydd y nwyddau ar gael mewn ail arddangosfa yng Nghanolfan Mileniwm Cymru o 14 Rhagfyr 2021, yn codi arian i waith anhygoel Hijinx.

Hijinx Odyssey and the Year 1 students from the BA Creative and Therapeutic Arts course at the University of South Wales are delighted to present this exhibition. The students have been on a group work placement with Hijinx Odyssey this Autumn / Winter Term, co-facilitating creative workshops with neurodivergent, learning disabled and/or autistic adults on Monday evenings. Most recently, the students facilitated an art-based wellbeing workshop, reflecting on themes from Hijinx’s Christmas Show, ‘Pinocchio and the Northern Lights’.

These drawings, collages, three-dimensional and written responses draw inspiration from the magical scenery from the play, the colourful characters, and significant objects such as the mystical memory jars.
​
The students have then transformed these responses into saleable items, from tea towels to crockery, from felt puppets to sun catchers and so much more. These will be available in a second exhibition at the Wales Millennium Centre from the 14th of December 2021, raising money towards Hijinx’ incredible work.
​
The staff and students from the Creative and Therapeutic Arts course would like to thank the members of Hijinx Odyssey, Jon Dafydd-Kidd (Head of Pawb, Hijinx) and the wealth of other Hijinx facilitators for this amazing learning opportunity for the students. We’d also like to thank the Wales Millennium Centre for making the exhibition possible.
